Rafting (Traditional)

The Rafting (traditional) Permit refers to the use of a man made craft, often constructed through the use of barrels, poles and rope using pioneering techniques, to travel accross water. The raft is usually powered by single bladed paddles, however other methods of propulsion, such as a sail, can also be used.
 
A Rafting (traditional) permit is required for all Rafting (traditional) taking place except in class C water. There are three main types of permits available for Rafting (traditional); Personal, Leadership, Supervisory, for all classes of water except C class.

Personal Permit, allows a young person (under 18) to take part in Rafting (traditional) activities with others with a personal jet ski permit

Leadership Permit, allows the permit holder to lead rafting (traditional) activities for a single group of craft

Supervisory Permit, allows the permit holder to remotely supervise rafting (traditional) activities with up to 3 groups of 3 craft

The Tick below indicates the level of permit granted, to either Lead or Supervise, for further clarification ask the Permit Holder, the Responsible Commissioner or the Permit Registrar. A current First Aid qualification to be held by the named instructor or by another person on the activity.
