Beavers

Beavers are usually aged between six and eight years old, though they can be as young as five and three quarters.

They usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.

2018 Beaver Challenge Badge

Criteria: To complete 10 out of the 14 Activities

Who can wear the Badge: The whole Beaver Colony (even if not everyone takes part in all activities)
  1. Take part in The Scout Association's 'A Million Hands' campaign.
  2. Complete at least two of the Skills 4 Life Modules.
  3. Take part in a Log Chew to plan a sleepover, event or fundraiser.
  4. Take part in a County event.
  5. Have a go at an adventurous activity e.g. climbing, abseiling, crate stacking.
  6. Have a bring a friend/adult evening so more people can find out about Beaver Scouting.
  7. Help build a fire and cook on it.
  8. Visit a place in the community and find out five facts about it e.g. Fire Station, Mayor's office, Gurdwara Temple.
  9. Support nature by making a feeder or a home e.g. bird feeder, bug hotel, hedgehog house.
  10. Take part in an event to support your community e.g. litter picking, beach clean-up, weeding a community garden or similar.
  11. Go on a Beaver sleepover.
  12. Take part in a joint event/activity with Cubs.
  13. Go on an activity hike e.g. treasure/scavenger hunt, JOTT, Geocaching.
  14. Any other suitable challenge as agreed by the Colony leadership team.

2018 Badge Competition

THE NEW KENT CHALLENGE 2018 BADGE

This is our new badge. After a very difficult decision it was decided to go with a combination of three designs. The winners are : The Lodge Leaders from Staplehurst, Dalton from 6th Ramsgate and Reggie from Harrier Colony.
