Active Support

Scout Active Support allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.

Our Activities teams are made up of Scout Active Support Units (SASUs) who focus on specific activities.

I’m Beccy Martin – one half of a double act with Bunty Ridgway.

We have worked alongside each other supporting Scouting in the county, events and Scout Active Support. I have been involved in Scouting for over 40 years. I’ve experience of organising large events, fundraising and was a Scout Association volunteer team member who helped to write the Centenary Cub Programme.

If you have something going on in your District please let us know about it and we can spread the word!

I’m Bunty Ridgway and together with Beccy we work with all the SAS’s in Kent by providing help and support where needed.

I am a member of two SAS’s – Medway and Lower Grange Farm where I co-ordinate a team of helpers, several of whom are members of various SAS’s in the County. I am also involved in the Christmas Parties held each year and the weekly work parties improving and maintaining facilities at the Centre.
