Volunteers and Helpers
Scouting offers challenge and adventure young people (boys and girls) across Kent. We believe in helping our members fulfil their potential by encouraging them to work in teams and think for themselves. We give young people of every background the chance to stretch themselves, learn new skills and make lifelong friends. Not in Scouting and would like to know more >
Lower Grange Farm are looking to establish a core team of volunteer instructors and wardens to help them maximise the benefit each group can gain from the fantastic facilities we have.
They are looking for people who are available between 5.30 and 10pm Monday to Friday and daily the weekends for the Instructor posts or at weekends and school holidays at all times day and night for the Warden posts.
If you would like to become part of the LGF volunteer instructor/ warden team either to gain some training and learn new skills or because you can't commit to regular days and nights required to assist a group but would like to assist our young people, then please contact Dean Clark (Centre Manager) outlining how and when you would be available to assist.
By developing our volunteer team we aim to make LGF more accessible to our Kent Scouting members by minimising the financial barrier to access.
Kent Scouts Power Kite Activities Team provide Power Kite flying experiences for young people - offering the ultimate in adrenaline rushes available to everyone from Cub age upwards!
Haven't tried powerkiting before don't worry our experienced team will get you up to scratch on how to be pulled across a muddy field in style and help you instruct others to do the same. We are a very relaxed team and arrange flying sessions across the County and further afield for instructors only so we can have have a blast on kite buggies / boards.
We are looking for new members to join the excitement and help us once a month or when ever you are available to teach young people this amazing activity.
We also are at large events such as Gilwell 24 and Kent International Jamboree so join us now.
Like our Facebook Page or follow us on Twitter ( @flyscout ) to find out when we're next going flying or by email and join us for a blast.
Calling all grown-up space geeks! Or, in fact, anyone over 18 who fancies lending a hand to deliver the above as part of our friendly team. We're no experts, and we eat far too much cake, but we do share a love of inventing cunning ways to enthuse young people about science. What better way to do that than with explosives?!
You can take as active or relaxed a role as you like. Join us one weekend day every couple of months to help run a rocket event. Or take on the challenge of developing a whole new space activity. Be launch controller for water rockets, or lead the development of our new multi-engined camera-lugging spaceship. Find out about high altitude balloons and think how that could be delivered as a Scout activity. Eat cake. Endless possibilities!
Are you looking for Volunteers or Helpers for your team, group or section then please get in touch with details and we can add it to this page.
