16th Canterbury Troop Hike for British Heart Foundation
Well done to the 30 Scouts from the 16th Canterbury Scouts and their leaders who hiked along the Pilgrims way from Canterbury to Aylesford priory over the week end of 10th to 12th February 2017 all in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and troop funds. The Scouts left on the Friday evening and made it through to Challock where they slept over then after a cooked Breakfast, the Scouts left Challock but before that enjoyed a snowball fight and tried to leave a snowman behind on the field as it had snowed during the night. Although it had snowed and was very cold the Scouts all left with a big smile on their faces for the next leg, to get to Detling.
At Detling a nice warm hall and a hot meal, drink was waiting for them then a nice early night to get ready for the last leg of the Hike.
The Scouts were very tired but never gave up at all and were very determined to complete the hike finishing at the Aylesford Priory, Maidstone.
The end was eventually in sight and as the Scouts walked into the Priory their faces lit up to a big loud applause from Members of the British Heart Foundation and their parents, where the Scouts and the leaders were presented with Medals from the British Heart Foundation.
