Weald of Kent Rotary Walk
The Annual Weald of Kent Rotary North Downs walk takes place once more on Sunday 10th June 2018. You can choose the distance you want to walk, and change your mind as you go! So if you only feel up to one mile then you can - but if you can tackle the nine miles you can! and of course there are 3 and 6 mile distances too. All through the lovely Kent countryside. The great thing about the walk is that you raise money for good causes - 50% of your sponsorship money goes to Cancer Research and you keep the other 50% for your own good cause - your Scout Group, section or project you are raising funds for.
The Rotary Club award a trophy to the Scout Group that raises the most money and this is awarded at their annual gala dinner in November. The trophy for 2017 was won by the 6th Medway Valhalla Group and Gail Couchman, Lisa Arterton, Erin Davies and Alexander Davies went along to collect the trophy. Their efforts helped the Rotary raise more than £14,600 for Cancer Research. A massive well done to everyone involved.
Your Group can get involved in 2018 - check out the walk at here and see how you can get involved. At the end of the walk there is a ploughman's lunch and strawberries all accompanied by a jazz band - so you can relax at the end of the walk.
You can also find out more about the walk by popping along to Christmas at Lower Grange Farm on the 16th December from 11am as Duncan and John from the Rotary will be there to tell you all about it.
