Weald of Kent Rotary Walk

Congratulations to the Trident Explorer Scout Unit who were the worthy winners of the Kent Scout Challenge Trophy awarded by the Weald of Kent Rotary annually for the Scout Group which raises the most money at their annual walk.  This year the Unit helped the Rotary raise a magnificent £15,100 - nearly 500 walkers from all around the county took part, Cadets, Brownies, individuals, families and other community groups all got sponsorship.  50% of their sponso money goes towards Cancer Research and they can keep 50% for their own good cause.  In this instance the Trident Explorers were able to purchase hammocks for their Unit to enable them to enjoy the outdoors in a different way.  Well done to everyone who took part.

You can get involved next year - the walk takes place on Sunday 14th June 2020.  There are four levels on the walk, 1 mile, 3mile, 6 mile and 9 mile and you can choose how far you want to walk.  Groups can keep 50% of the proceeds for their own cause and you could be in with a chance of winning the Kent Scout Challenge Trophy and attending the Awards dinner held in November.

For more information check the walk out here.
