Following the confirmation, on 6th September 2021, from the UK Government that the Youth Sector provision in England has moved to a GREEN Readiness Level. Due to this Section meetings can continue to take place outdoors and indoors and residential activities are now allowed without restrictions. For full details of these of the Readiness Levels please refer to

Despite the lifting of the restrictions please make sure that in all activities, events and residential experiences are still organised with the upmost care and risk assessed appropriately.

If required, further, full details from The Scouts can be found here as well as a range of Coronavirus related FAQs.

As a County we are still extremely pleased and impressed with how our volunteers have continued to come up with innovative ways to support Scouting so that it has been able to continue at distance since the 1st lockdown in 2020 right up until the present day. Our County teams are, as always, offering sectional support, training, District support and more as well to ensure Scouting in Kent continues on the right path now that we are at Readiness Level GREEN.

In addition, we know there are some great ideas out there, so please share what you have been doing, both physically and virtually, via ours and your own social media channels!

If you have questions, concerns or just need a chat, please get in touch with the relevant people from the County Team, County Office or your local District Teams - and we'll do our best to help support.

As always, we will continue to provide further updates, suggestions and information both via this page, our i.Scout in Kent mailout and our social media channels if anything changes.

Make sure you subscribe to iScout in Kent to receive our updates on this and other opportunities around the County direct to your inbox.

POR has been amended allowing meetings to be held remotely. It also allows decisions to be made electronically. This is valid immediately and will be updated in the next update to POR, in early April. The wording is as follows:

  • Electronic voting (such as email) is allowed for decision making of the County/District/Group Executive Committee and its sub-Committees when deemed appropriate by the Chair. In such instances at least 75% of committee members must approve the decision.
  • The County/District/Group Executive Committee & its sub-Committees can meet by telephone conference, video conference as well as face to face in order to discharge its responsibilities when agreed by the appropriate Chair.
