How to Join Us
During the summer of 2018 twenty Kent Explorer Scouts aged 16+, and Network Scouts aged 18-25, are visiting the Volta Region of Ghana West Africa.

Participants will volunteer with the local community, work at schools in developing areas and get to do an exciting excursion to the Cape Coast plus a Volta Adventure weekend.

Participants will support a school by coaching sport, engaging in community work, and classroom teaching.

Most participants fundraise to generate funds for their trip and many successfully fundraise 100% of their trip costs. Participants are encouraged to undertake individual fundraising opportunities where possible.

Beavers are usually aged between six and eight years old, though they can be as young as five and three quarters.

Cubs are young people aged between 8 and 10½, who make up the second section of the Scouting family.

Scouts are young people, aged between 10½ and 14 years who like making new friends and getting involved in new activities.

Anyone ages between 14 and 18 can be an Explorer Scout. And there are plenty of different ways you can be involved in Scouting.

If you're aged between 18 and 25 years old and really want to get out into the world, have a great time whilst doing the some of things you love.

Scout Active Support allows adults to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

Activities Team

Kent Scout Activities Team will support you and show you how easy it is to get out there and have some fun.

The team is made up of Scout Active Support Units (SASUs) who focus on specific activities.

International Adventures

An International Scout Active Support Unit (SASU) has been created to coordinate all international opportunities across Kent Scouts. Whether you are looking for ideas to run an evening programme or want to be part of a global challenge, we hope to give you the right pointers here.

Young People

We change lives by offering 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

Activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing. Also can learn survival skills, first aid and much more.

There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world. arrow_forward

Adult Volunteers

This everyday adventure is possible thanks to our adult volunteers, who support us in a wide range of roles from working directly with young people, to helping manage a Group, to being a charity Trustee.

We help volunteers get the most out of their experiences by providing opportunities for adventure, training, fun and friendship.

There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting. arrow_forward
