World Scout Winter Sports
Unit: RAMS 11th Folkestone
It was a great experience to represent my Unit, my district and a privilege to represent my country in an international event. It was enjoyable to meet Scouts from other countries, to exchange badges, neckies and exchange e-mail addresses to be able to keep in touch.
One of the Swedish Team member gave myself and James a private lesson in cross country skiing after the Triathlon to help us doing well in the competition the next day. He showed to be a good Scout by helping others and keeping the Scout law.
Unfortunately the team was not at its strongest in Curling. We lost all of the matches except from two which we drew with Switzerland and USA Team 2. However, during each match the team showed improvement and it was fun to learn a new skill.
It was great fun to be part of a good team and making new friends in our own country. We all keep in touch via E-mails and are great friends.
It is nice to be in the top 4 and having beaten the home country and both USA teams, however the important part was being there and having fun whilst competing.
