Children in Need 2011
1st Garlinge European Beaver Colony set to work raising money for Children In Need 2011, starting with a Wild Hair and Crazy Caps Competition. As you can see the section leaders and young leader took the hair challenge very seriously!
The evening continued along a Children in Need theme with activities including a bake sale, Pudsey bandana making, Pudsey masks, face painting and a penny mile. Lots of fun and games were enjoyed by all throughout the evening which raised a total of £86 in just an hour and a half.
On Tuesday 15th November, 17 Cubs from 1st Birchington took part in a pack fundraiser event to raise money for Children in Need 2011.
The challenge was to see how far the Cubs could run as a pack in the Scout hut in 1 hour. They were split into 2 teams and ran relay's up and down the Scout hut. We were amazed with the result and all of the Cubs should be very proud of themselves. In total Cubs ran 1,760 lengths of the Scout Hut, this equates to 19km or 12.4 miles!
Sponsorship forms and money are still to come in but it is anticipated that they have raised £85 for Children in Need.
