Annual Review 2023/24
24th September 2024
Yet another fantastic year for Scouting across Kent!
2023/24 was another adventure filled year for all those involved in Scouting across Kent. Many exciting activities and events were undertaken by all our Districts and Teams that make up Kent Scouts.
To show case all those AMAZING things from that 12 months, below is our Annual Review booklet for 2024.
"Welcome to this year’s annual review. This booklet highlights the high-quality scouting that’s been delivered by our county teams and districts across Kent over the last 12 months.
This year, in addition to a great number of special trips and activity weekends nearer to home, we had a large contingent attend the World Scout Jamboree in Korea. It’s wonderful to see that the Squirrel Section, new last year, has continued thrive and to be welcomed into more and more of our groups. Meanwhile, our commitment to growing scouting, in the shape of the innovative ‘Grow 50’ campaign, paid dividends with an increase of 1000 new members.
As you know, our scouting year ended with a loss we could never have imagined, the passing of our County Lead Volunteer, Dean Harding. My heartfelt thanks go to all of you, too many to mention here, who willingly stepped forward to help when it was needed, and when you were grieving your own loss.
I will end this introduction as Dean would have wished; he never underestimated importance of thanking the individuals who make up the sections, groups and teams across Kent for their hard work and commitment to running grass roots scouting. So, I’d like to extend my thanks to every one of you who together make an amazing difference. It is thanks to you that we can offer ‘skills for life’ to so many young people in Kent; long may it continue." - Des, County Chairman
