Arctic Dinner Success
8th December 2024

On Saturday 7th December 2024 sixty-seven people attended the Kent Scouts ArcticQuest2026 Arctic Dinner at the London Beach Hotel in Tenterden. After welcome drinks and a three-course dinner they settled down to listen their patron and after dinner speaker - Louis Rudd MBE.
Louis is a record-breaking polar adventurer, expedition leader, former Royal Marine Commando and SAS soldier, with 34 years of service. He is the first – and only – person to have traversed Antarctica twice using human power alone, has reached the South Pole four times from different coastal start points and summited Antarctica’s highest mountain.
His partner Dr Wendy Serle, a polar adventurer in her own right and the 7th Woman in History to Ski Solo to the South Pole has also now agreed to be a joint patron of the project. Attendees also got the chance to bid live on the Annual ArcticQuest Auction items, buy polar bears, and raise even more funds for the project. Including the online auction the event has already raised well over £4000.
