As you may be aware the original MAXC summer camp has been cancelled but I did not want this to stop 13.5yrs plus from having an exciting summer camp in 2023

I am arranging a camp in the Peak District for 14th to 19th August 2023 and I hope that you would like to join me and your leaders in this. We will be getting together up to 35 Explorers within Kent to make it more affordable and manageable.

Units or Districts with just a few explorers are very welcome to come along as well as larger units. (With at least 1 leader if possible)

We plan to travel by minibus and cars to the Chesterfield District Scout Campsite (Spitewinter) and camp. We have use of a hall with a kitchen and catering will be centralised with groups of Explorers taking it in turns to be involved in the cooking.

The hall does have some beds if a more comfy option suits you (Needs to be prebooked as spaces limited) but camping or sleeping in a hammock are also on offer. Tents and Hammocks will need to be supplied.

We are hoping to put on the following activities.

• Climbing
• Abseiling
• River Walking
• Hill walking
• Games
• Alton Towers day out
• Caving
• Crate Stacking
• Team building activities
• Relaxing round a fire in the evening after an energetic day.

The cost will be £180 which will cover the camping, Activities and food but transport costs will be extra. Personal spending money would also be needed. Some activities may change due to availability and the weather.

We can spread the cost over a period of time to help with a deposit of £20 and then on 1st April £80 and 1st June £80. Travel costs would be paid directly to whoever you are travelling with.
