Introducing our new County Lead Volunteer!

Following an in depth search and interview process we’re delighted to announce that Nirav Patel has been appointed as our next County Lead Volunteer / County Commissioner for Kent Scouts!

Nirav will officially take on the role from 15th September 2024, with an official handover, from acting County Lead Volunteer Neil Gearing, at our County AGM on 28th September 2024.

Nirav is actively involved in Kent Scouts, currently as a Deputy County Commissioner, County Transformation Lead and County Trustee, as well as being the UK Lead for Young Leaders and also working with his own Scout Group and Explorer Unit locally. Previously, Nirav was also the County Youth Commissioner.

Outside of Scouts, Nirav is a lecturer at a local university as well as being a chartered architect.

Nirav is looking forward to this challenge in ensuring that Scouts remains inclusive, shaped by our young people and is accessible to all.
