Kent Scouts Ghana26 Team Departs for Ghana

Today, 5th August 2026, a team of young people and adult volunteers from Kent Scouts departs for Ghana26, an international community project delivered in partnership with African Adventures.

Building on the success of Ghana18 and Ghana22, this is the third Kent Scouts expedition to Ghana. During the project, participants will work alongside a local school community, supporting classroom teaching, leading sports activities and helping with building maintenance projects to improve the learning environment for pupils.

The team, drawn from across Kent, has spent many months fundraising, training and preparing for the expedition.

Alan Noake MBE, County Community Impact & Visits Abroad Team Leader for Kent Scouts, said:

"Ghana26 is an incredible opportunity for our young people to make a positive difference while developing confidence, leadership and teamwork skills. Building on the legacy of Ghana18 and Ghana22, the team will work directly with a Ghanaian school community and gain experiences and friendships that will stay with them for life. We are immensely proud of their commitment and wish them every success."

Working with African Adventures and local partners, participants will experience Ghanaian culture, contribute to community projects and return to Kent with valuable insights into global citizenship and international volunteering.
