20th February 2025

Kent Scouts are proud to announce that Tom Manktelow is joining the County Team in the role of County Jamborees Team Leader, overseeing the selection and support process for the 27th World Scout Jamboree to Poland in 2027.
"Hi all,
I am Tom and I joined Beavers when I was 6 at Stone Dartford, continue though to ventures before becoming an explorer. I was lucky enough to be a participate at the 20th world jamboree in Thailand. I was part of the district “program” team while at university, taking on task such as participate and leader selection for the jamborees, as well as ensuring that the international provision was offered, coming back from uni I focused on growing the 14-18 provision by taking on unit leadership of a failing ESU and developing to a successful one. When my eldest daughter was born due to medical issues I had to step back from scouting to focus on my family.
Post covid my eldest joined beavers aged 6 and with in 2 weeks I was signed up as a parent helper.
I am now run an active explorer unit team leader In Sittingbourne Milton and district where I am also privileged to serve as the DLV.
Overall scouting has given me so much as person and is giving so much to my family all 5 of us are the scouts ranging from squirrels to leadership, but the reason for this is it allow us to be ourselves each of us have our own identity.
I look forward to leading the jamboree team and sharing some exciting news about the upcoming. Selection programmes!"
WELCOME ABOARD TOM!
