Cuboree FAQ

Is the price the same for Cubs and Leaders?

Yes, but we have arranged to allow one free leader place per pack booking on the initial deposit payment only.

Young Leaders can be added to the form, they count as Cubs for the purposes of ratios as they are not over 18.

When do we need to book?

All bookings must be made before the closing date, we will try to be flexible and accommodate extra booking requests after your initial booking if you want to add people if there are spaces available and your ratios are maintained.

The Adult free place is on the initial booking only and is calculated by the form.

We are not in Kent, can we come?

Initial bookings are reserved for Kent Cubs only, if we have places after the deposit closing date we may be able to accommodate you. Please contact the Cuboree 2026 Team using this form and a member of the team will contact you to discuss your request if this is possible.

Can leaders have a go on the activities too?

Yes, where it feels appropriate. There’s no reason why leaders can’t take part in all of the same activities as the Cubs, you just need to make your intention known to the activity leaders and go for it!

Can we book by District?

Sorry, booking by District are not possible for this event.

Who does the paperwork?

The leader in charge will need to complete the paperwork for your booking as if it were your own camp. This includes Nights Away Notification (NAN), In-Touch details, health forms etc.

Will I need a Nights Away Permit?

Technically yes – however we can buddy you up with a leader who can assist you as part of their permit and guide you through what information they need to collect. This is not a camp that you can use to gain your permit, however the paperwork that you will need to do is good practice for planning your own.

What happens at drop off and pick up time?

The site has a one way system, which understandably can become jammed very quickly when there are hundreds of people trying to get in at the same time. We will assign you a time to arrive on the Saturday and when to depart on the Monday and it is extremely important that these times are adhered to as much as possible.

If you are not all arriving together by coach etc. Leaders MUST arrive before Cubs, as we cannot allow Cubs to stay without their parents if they do not have a Leader that they know present.

On arrival, if your Cubs are being dropped off by parents you will need to prepare them for a conveyor belt style system, where they will exit the car quickly with their kit, which will be put into allocated temporary storage, then they will need to find their Leader who should be waiting at the drop off point.

Departure will happen in much the same way but reversed. At the specified departure time, you will gather at the departure site. A team will be in place stopping each car and alerting those who are waiting who is needed next.

Arrivals will be between 9am and 10am and collection from 1.30pm on Monday - We will send out more details nearer the time on how this is going to work.

How are the activities divided up?

Kingswood works on a system of ‘Activity Lines’. These are numbered and we will be slotting each of you into an Activity Line, often pairing you up with another Pack. e.g. you may end up being slotted into Line 27, which means that when we say “Meet at The Lines” you will meet at the designated meeting area and line up by the sign that says 27.

There is an activities co-ordinator on site who schedules the programme of activities for each group. The co-ordinator looks at the available activities and assigns ‘Lines’ to each one, whilst making sure that the activities, especially the big exciting ones, are shared out equally.

We will be working very closely with this rep to ensure that we are happy with the way the activities have been divided up and that there is a fair distribution. However if you spot any discrepancies, duplications etc when you are given your programme, please let us know straight away so that we can get it rectified.

Please note - we cannot guarantee that you will be able to do everything that you like the sound of on site, as the spread of activities is governed by available team members to run them – not all possible activities will run on any given day. What we can ensure is that your Cubs will be busy and challenged all day and do lots of different things with a mixture of ‘big’ and ‘small’ activities.

What is the catering like?

You will be served 3 meals a day in the on-site canteen. This consists of hot and cold food:

Breakfast – there is a cereal station with juices and a selection of cereals to choose from and there is also self-serve toast and hot cooked food available at the servery.

Lunch – there is a salad bar with a wide selection of things to enjoy on the side of your meal and then a hot meal from the servery, where there will be the choice of usually two meals.

Dinner – as lunch.

Can you cater for allergies/ intolerance/dietary needs etc?

Yes – you just need to make this clear on the booking form so that we can inform Kingswood. You will then need to make sure that this is mentioned / requested at each meal time at the servery as there will be too many people on site for them to know who individually needs different things. There is no extra charge for meeting these needs.

What if I have a Cub who doesn’t want to do one of the big activities?

The team members at Kingswood are excellent at encouraging and supporting young people through the activities, to help them achieve extraordinary things. Last time we had hundreds of young people who with the right amount of support, leapt off tall towers, climbed the wall and helped each other to the top of Jacob’s ladder, among other things. If you feel that a nudge is all your Cub may need, please make this clear to the activity leader at the time so that an opportunity is not missed.

Our County Inclusion Team will be on site to provide support - more details will be available in advance on request or at the Saturday Leaders meeting. We will have some alternative activities that will be available for you on a ‘drop in’ basis throughout the day.

Where can we get drinks throughout the day outside of mealtimes?

There are water fountains near the entrance to the canteen where Cubs can fill water bottles at their leisure all day. There is also a lounge on the top floor of the ‘Hub’ where adults can make themselves hot drinks throughout the day. We will advise you of any necessary door entry codes at the Leaders Meeting on the Saturday.

What is the required ratio for Cubs and Leaders?

As with all outside Cub events, the ratio is 1 leader to every 8 Cubs PLUS the leader in charge. So for example if you want to bring 12 Cubs, you must bring 3 adults. If you bring 8 Cubs, it would be 2 leaders.

Please remember that if you are bringing Young Leaders they count as Cubs for the purposes of ratio as they are not over 18.

Can Young Leaders attend?

Yes, Young Leaders can attend by using that part of the booking form, they have to be classed as Cubs in your ratio as they are under 18.

How do I add more participants to my original booking?

You may be able to add additional participants if there are places available. Please contact the Cuboree 2026 Team using this form using your booking reference and pack name as your subject and then detail your request and a member of the team will contact you to discuss your request.

What are you going to do about Cubs who cannot be photographed / filmed?

You will need to bring this up at the Leaders meeting that you have someone that this applies too. We will then let the media representatives know that there are people on site who cannot be photographed / filmed.

During the weekend, it will be up to you to let the media representative know if they are near you. We can never guarantee a 100% successful system due to crowd pictures etc, but can promise that we will do everything humanly possible!

We will be posting images online throughout the weekend, if someone who should not be in a picture appears please alert us straight away so that we can take it down.
